At the time of the 1881 England Census Harriet Funnell, age 33, born in Chailey Sussex, husband Alfred Funnell, age 31, born in Newick Sussex, grocer's assistant, and son Edward A Funnell (10 months) of Bolney, were with Harriet's parents in Farm House, Chailey Sussex.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Harriet Funnell, age 43, born in Chailey, and husband Alfred Funnell, age 41, born in Newick, were living in North Common, Chailey Sussex. With them were sons Edward A (10) of Bolney, scholar, and Thomas J (9) of Chailey, scholar.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Harriott Funnell, age 53, born in Chailey, and husband Alfred Funnell, age 51, born in Newick, grocer etc. (own account), were living in North Common, Chailey Sussex. With them was son Thomas John (19) of Chailey, wheelwright's assistant.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Harriett Funnell, age 63, born in Chailey (mother of 4 children, 2 deceased), and husband of 31 years Alfred Funnell, age 61, born in Newick, grocer &c. (own account), were living in North Common, Chailey Sussex.

CHAILEY.

FUNERAL OF MRS. FUNNELL.—After a few days' illness, Mrs. Funnell, wife of Mr. Alfred Funnell, of North Common, passed away last Friday. Deceased was 70 years of age. The funeral took place on Tuesday at St. Mary's, the Rev. H. H. Matravers officiating. The mourners were:—Mr. A. Funnell (widower), Mr. and Mrs. E. Funnell (son and daughter-in-law), Private and Mrs. T. Funnell (son and daughter-in-law), Messrs. H. and E. Simmonds (brothers), Mrs. Luckens (sister), Mr. and Mrs. G. Simmonds (nephew and niece), and Messrs. W. and A. Simmons (nephews). There was a big number of floral tributes.
