At the time of the 1901 England Census William Simmons, age 30, born in Danehill Sussex, single, railway porter, was lodging in Railway Cottage 3, Cinque Port Road, Seaford Sussex.

In Nov 1904 William Griffith Simmons was present at the marriage of his brother Alfred Simmons to Harriet Harrowing in Lindfield Sussex.

At the time of the 1911 England Census William Griffieth Simmons, age 40, born in Danehill Fletching, railway guard, and wife of 8 years Amy Eliza, age 35, born in Sittingbourne Kent (mother of 3 children), were living at 22 Redvers Rd., Brighton, Sussex. With them were daughters (born in Brighton): Elsie May (7), Amy Rose (6), Emily Maude (4).

In the 1939 Register William G Simmons (b. 16 Dec 1870), passenger guard retired S.R., and wife Amy E Simmons (b. 23 Jun 1875), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 22 Redvers Road, Brighton Sussex. At the same address were [daughter] Elsie M Simmons (b. 19 Sep 1903), solicitor's secretary shorthand, and two records officially closed.
