In May 1833 Hester Henty and [her husband-to-be] Henry Mockett were present at the marriage of Hester's sister, Mercy Henty, to John Mocket in Alciston.
In Dec 1841 Hester Mockett was a witness at the marriage of her sister Mercy Mockett, widow, to William Denman in Alciston.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Esther Mockett, age 32, born in Alciston, and husband Henry Mockett, age 39, born in Selmeston, gardener, were living in Selmeston Village, Selmeston Sussex. Present were children (born in Selmeston): Edwin (11), scholar, Edgar (9), scholar, Adolphus (7), scholar, Abigail (5).
At the time of the 1861 England Census Hester Mockett, age 42, born in Alciston, and husband Henry Mockett, age 49, born in Selmeston, domestic gardener, were living in Thatcher House, Selmeston. Daughter Abigail Mockett (15) was working nextdoor as a domestic nurse. Sons Edwin Mockett (21), journeyman blacksmith, and Adolphus Mockett (18), blacksmith's ap[prentice], were with their maternal aunt and uncle Mercy & William Denman in ironmonger's shop, Willingdon Sussex.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Esther Mockett, age 62, born in Alciston, widow, was with her sister Mary [sic] Denman in Spring Villa, Willingdon Sussex.
