In September 1780 Edward Moyle, then aged 11, and brother Thomas, moved with their widowed mother from Helston to Wendron following the death of John Moyle four months earlier.

Edward married Ann Knuckey, daughter of Richard Knuckey of Wendron and Mary Gluvyas, on 28 Jan 1792 in Wendron, Cornwall 1. (Ann Knuckey was born about 1765, christened on 14 Nov 1767 in Stithians, Cornwall 4 and was buried on 19 Feb 1823 in Wendron, Cornwall 5.)
