In 1891 Herbert B. Hocken, aged 9, born in Gwinear Cornwall, scholar, was with his parents at 54 High St., Penzance, Cornwall.

In 1901 Herbert B. Hocken, aged 19, grocery clerk, and brother Ernest B. Hocken, aged 24, compositor, both single, were boarding at 14 Harriet Rd., Islington, London.

In 1911 Herbert Hocken, aged 29, born in Gwinear Cornwall, commercial clerk for Electric Wire Co., and wife of 3 years Maggie Hocken, aged 27, born in Probus Cornwall (mother of 2 children), were living at 4 Diby Road, Finsbury Park, London. With them were children (born in Stoke Newington) Gordon (2) and Gladys (1 month).

In March 1917 Herbert Bennett Hocken, commercial clerk, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his late brother Ernest Bennett Hocken of Harringay.

In 1921 Herbert B Hocken, aged 39 years 5 months, salesman [for the] London Electric Wire Co., and wife Maggie J Hocken, aged 38 years 2 months, born in Probus Cornwall, were living at 21, Connaught Road, Hornsey, Middlesex. With them were children (born in Stoke Newington London) Herbert G (12y 5m) and Gladys L (10y 3m).

In the 1939 Register Herbert B Hocken (b. 9 Jan 1882), Branch sales manager, cable & insulated wire, and wife Maggie J. Hocken (b. 9 Apr 1883), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 72 Smirrells Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire. At the same address was (daughter) Gladys L Hocken (b. 3 Mar 1911), single, cooking demonstrator.

In February 1963 Herbert Bennett Hocken, retired branch manager, was granted Administration of his late wife's personal effects.
