In 1901 Nicholas Hockens, aged 21, born in Wall, Gwinear, Cornwall, single, Able Seaman, was aboard the vessel Cambridge at Millbrook, St Germans, Cornwall.

In 1911 Nicholas J. Hocken, aged 31, born in Gwinear Cornwall, single, Petty Officer, R.N., was in Royal Navy Barracks at Keyham, Devonport, England.

In 1921 Nicholas John Hocken, aged 41 years 8 months, born in Gwinear Cornwall, electrical fitter with Acme Electrical Tractor Repair Co. (out of work), and wife Mabel Pascoe Hocken, aged 39 years 4 months, born in Probus Cornwall, were living at 12, Duckett Road, Harringay, Hornsey, Middlesex.
