In 1911 Martin Rabey, aged 20, born in Scorrier Cornwall, single, outfitter, was with his widowed mother at 14 Addison Road, Plymouth, Devon.
In the 1939 Register Martin Rabey (b. 13 Jun 1890), sub-postmaster, and wife Mildred Rabey (b. 7 Jun 1892), domestic duties, were living at 1 Avon House Flats Market Place, Sidmouth, Devon. At the same address were (children) Kenneth A Rabey (b. 15 Mar 1921), single, post-office clerk, and Doreen E. Rabey (b. 27 Mar 1925), single, at school.
In March 1949 Martin Rabey, retired sub-postmaster, was granted Probate of his late mother's personal estate.

Martin married Mildred Higman, daughter of John Higman and Cathalina Mellen, on 21 Apr 1919 at the Wesleyan-Methodist Church, Redruth, Cornwall. (Mildred Higman was born on 7 Jun 1892 in Redruth, Cornwall and died in 1972 in the Croydon District, Surrey, England.)
