Writing his will in October 1742 James Kempthorne junr of Mullion named his daughter 'Martha late the wife of Erasmus Pascoe and now lately deceased', making her two sons residuary legatees of his personal estates in Mullion. Martha died seven months before her father.

Martha married Erasmus Pascoe, son of Bennett Pascoe of Tresprisson and Sarah Tonken, on 3 Feb 1730/1 in Mullion, Cornwall. (Erasmus Pascoe was christened 18 Jun 1702 in Wendron, Cornwall and was buried on 10 Nov 1770 in Wendron, Cornwall.)
