Probably the same as Richard S. Vivian who emigrated to Iowa, Wisconsin, USA, becoming a naturalized citizen there on 31 Oct 1846. ² As R. S. Vivian, he is recorded in the 1850 U.S. Federal Census for Mineral Point, Iowa, Wisconsin, aged 43, born in England, working as a miner, and again in the 1860 Census for Mineral Point as Richard S. Vivian, aged 53, born in England, and employed as a miner.
