--------------------------

The interment took place at Illogan churchyard on Saturday afternoon of the late Capt. Nicholas Vivian, of St. Agnes, aged 72 years. His grave adjoins the last resting place of some of his children, and his brothers, Capts. William and Joseph Vivian. The deceased was the last of the brothers who were so prominent in the management of West Kitty mines about twenty years ago. The late Capt. William Vivian and Mr. J. B. Reynolds brought West Kitty (formerly called Wheal Rock) into a paying concern, and at the height of his success he was struck down and died after one day's illness. His brother, Capt. Joe, was thereon appointed manager, but within a week he, too, had passed away. Capt. Nicholas Vivian, the subject of this notice, was at one time manager of Wheal Friendly, before it was absorbed by West Kitty mine. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Harry Oxland. The mourners were the Misses Minnie, Annie, and Edith Vivian, daugthers; Mr. Foster Vivian, nephew (Liskeard); Mr. and Mrs. B. Trevarthen, cousins; Mr. Edwards (Perranarworthal), Mr. J. Uren (Illogan), Capt. R. Radcliffe, and the Rev. W. Rider....
