In 1841 Joseph Vivian, aged about 25, born in the county, and wife Emily Vivian, aged about 20, born in the county, were living in Gwinear, Cornwall. With them was daughter Emily (1). Note that the Census taker erroneously recorded Joseph's name as Jonson.

Abstract of the Will of Joseph Vivian the Younger of Rose Cottage in the Parish of Gwinear and County of Cornwall, Master Mariner, written 25 Feb 1842, proved 20 May 1842. 3
Gives his lands, tenements, hereditaments, monies, shares in ships, household goods & furniture to his father Joseph Vivian of Roseworthy in the parish of Gwinear, merchant, and John Saxton Campbell* of Trenar House in Madron parish, esquire, in trust, the annual income from his estate to be paid to his wife Emily Jane, and his two children Albertus Henry and Emily Vincent to receive the other two third parts of his estate, share and share alike.
Appoints the said Joseph Vivian and John Saxton Campbell* co-executors and trustees of his will.
