Abstract of the Will of Henry Phillipps of the Parish of Gulval in the County of Cornwall, Gentleman, written 12 Dec 1721, proved 19 Feb 1729/30. 2

Gives to his wife Margaret Phillipps Trewithan mill and tenement in the parish of Camborne in co. Cornwall during her widowhood, as well as the brick house in the town of Penzance in the said county. If Margaret should re-marry, then he gives Trewithan mill and tenement to his daughter Jane Phillipps.

Gives £300 to his daughter Margreat Phillipps, to be paid to her when she turns twenty-one. He also gives her the tenement of Boskerres in the parish of Uny Lelant in co. Cornwall following the death of her uncle James Phillipps.

Gives £300 to his daughter Luce Phillipps, to be paid to her when she turns twenty-one, at which time he also gives her his right and title in the tenement of Bosolvall in the parish of Gulval which he holds by lease from James Keigwin, Esq.

Wills that, following his decease, his brothers Symon and James Phillipps shall have their diet, lodgings, washing and fuel paid for during their lifetimes.

If his daughters should die before the age of twenty-one, then he wills their portions to his kinsmen Samuel Phillipps, Jacob Phillipps and Willm. Phillipps, sons of his brother Jacob Phillipps deceased, to be divided equally between them.

Gives to his kinsman the said Samuel Phillipps and his heirs male the tenements called Tredennack & Buskednan Wartha in the parish of Gulval. If Samuel should die without male issue, then he gives the said tenements to Samuel's brother, the said Jacob Phillipps and his heirs male. And in default of issue, he gives the same to the said Willm. Phillipps and his heirs male.

All the rest of his messuages, lands, tenements, goods & chattels, he gives to his daughter Jane Phillipps, whom he appoints sole executrix of his last will and testament.

Nominates his brother Matthew Phillipps of the parish of St. Erth in co. Cornwall, his brother James Phillipps, his nephew the said Samuel Phillipps, and his wife Margaret Phillipps, guardians of his daughters during their respective minorities.

Henry Phillipps appointed his eldest daughter Jane as sole executrix of his will. Jane married Abel Angove and shortly thereafter died leaving several goods, chattels & credits unadministered. Administration was granted to the said Abel Angove of the parish of Illogan in co. Cornwall, Gent. on 25 Aug 1730.

Henry married Margaret, widow of John Tremenheere of Penzance, daughter of Arthur Bray of Camborne, Gent. and Jane, on 16 Nov 1709 in Camborne, Cornwall. (Margaret Bray was born about 1680 in Camborne, Cornwall and was buried on 27 Aug 1734 in Camborne, Cornwall.)
