In 1721 Margaret Phillipps was named as a beneficiary in her father's will, to receive £300 and his tenement of Boskerres in the parish of Uny Lelant in co. Cornwall following the death of her uncle James Phillipps.

Margaret's sister, Lucy Phillipps, wrote her will in the following year, dying a decade later, leaving Margaret's will unadministered. Administration was granted on 15 Aug 1747 to Abel Angove* and John Chubb, named as executors in trust of Lucy's will.
* Abel Angove was Margaret's and Lucy's brother-in-law, husband of their late sister Jane.
