In 1840 James Tremelling was a beneficiary of his father's will.
In 1851 James Tremellin, aged 30, born in Phillack Cornwall, carpenter, wife Alice Tremellin, aged 26, born in Gwinear Cornwall, and sons Jas. Hy. (3) and Richard (1), were with Alice's parents in Copper House West, Phillack.
In 1861 James Tremelling, aged 39, born in Phillack, pattern maker, and wife Alice Tremelling, aged 35, born in Gwinear, were living in Copper House, Phillack. Present were children: James H. (13), scholar, Richard (12), scholar, Thomas (11), scholar, Matilda E. (9), scholar, Ellen (7), scholar, Charles (4), scholar, and Alfred (2).
In 1871 James Tremelling, aged 50, born in Phillack, pattern maker in iron factory, and wife Alice Tremelling, aged 45, born in Gwinear, were living in Commercial Road, Phillack. With them were children: James Hy. (28), pattern maker, Thomas (19), copper smith, Matilda (18), domestic assistant, Charles (14), labourer, Hampton (9), scholar, and Alfred (5), scholar.

HAYLE.
SUDDEN DEATH.—Mr. James Tremelling, Commercial-road, Hayle, died suddenly on Wednesday afternoon. He worked at Messrs. Harvey and Co.'s Foundry as a pattern-maker. On Wednesday he was engaged in casing some pumps, and about three in the afternoon he was seized with an apoplectic fit, and died in an hour afterwards. He was unconscious from the time he was taken until he died. Mr. Mudge, surgeon, was with him, but could render no assistance. About eleven months ago, Mrs. Tremelling, wife of the deceased, died suddenly. Mr. Tremelling was 56 years of age.
