DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR. WILLIAM H. LUTEY, OF CARFURY, GULVAL.

To those with whom he was intimately associated, the news of the death, after a fortnight's illness, of Mr. William Henry Lutey, of Carfury, Gulval, came as a sorrowful surprise. As surveyor under the West Penwith rural district council since its formation, Mr. Lutey, by his affable manner and uprightness, made for himself a very large circle of friends and aquaintances, all of whom deeply lament his unexpected demise.

A pillar of the Bible Christian cause at Newmill, deceased was highly esteemed, whilst, as superintendent of the Sunday-school, he manifested such love for religious education and tenderness to its pupils that the scholars evinced their great regard for him. Mr. Lutey's death is a serious loss to the denomination, his zeal for the growth and influence of religion being very noticeable, and it is felt that the vacancy thus sadly caused will not be easily filled. As a class-leader Mr. Lutey always manifested like serious earnestness. Furthermore, he carried his religion about with him in every day life, and it might well be said of him "His life was hid with Christ in God." He leaves a widow and seven young children, for whom the greatest sympathy is felt.....
