In 1841 Jno. Lean, aged about 40, mine agent, and wife Dorithy, aged about 45, were living in Mt. Pleasant, Camborne, Cornwall. With them were children: Grace (15), draper's assistant, Eliza (13), Tryphena (12), Henry (10), Wm. (7), Elizabeth (5), Jno. (3) and Emily (7 months).

Abstract of the Will of John Lean of Mount Pleasant in the Parish of Camborne in the County of Cornwall, written 2 Nov 1850, proved 27 Nov 1850. 4
Gives, devises & bequeaths all his household furniture, farm stock, all sums of money, his leasehold houses in Trelowarren Street and in College Street in the town of Camborne, his investment of £140 in the Wesley Chapel Trust, his shares in mines and all the rest and residue of his estate and effects, to George Smith of Trevu, merchant, James Lanyon, mineral agent, and Stephen Lean, mine agent, all of the parish of Camborne, their executors and administrators, upon Trust, so that his wife can have the use and enjoyment of all his household furniture as long as she lives and remains unmarried.
Directs that his Trustees should collect all monies owing to him, sell his mine shares, and invest the resultant sums in government securities or in freehold or leasehold mortgage(s), and to pay the dividends and produce thereof to his wife for the term of her natural life or until she marries again, for her use and the maintenance of any his children still under the age of twenty-one years. After her decease he wills that all monies issuing from the above and any other part of his estate be equally divided among his children.
Nominates, constitutes and appoints the said George Smith, James Lanyon and Stephen Lean co-executors of his will and guardians of his children.
