Know all Men by these presents that we John Lean of the parish of Camborne in the county of Cornwall, miner, Solemon Martin and John Coppin of the borough of Bodmin in the said county, yeomen, are held and firmly bound unto the worshipful William Short clerk, Archdeacon of Cornwall, in the sum of four hundred pounds....

Bond upon the Administration of the Goods &c. of Thomas Craze yeoman deceased granted to Grace Lean, wife of John Lean, the niece and one of the next of kin of the said deceased, on 26 Apr 1817 in Gwithian. 4

In the 1841 Census, Grace Lean, age 65, was living in Camborne, sharing a residence in Union St. with:

1. Grace Mitchell, age about 40, and probably the same as Grace Michell, christened Apr 1797 in Camborne, daughter of Benjamin Michell and Christian Lean - sister of John Lean; and
2. a young John Vivian, age 7, the son of William Vivian and Elizabeth Lean (Grace's second-youngest daughter and who were also living on Union Street in 1841) and hence Grace's grandson.

Grace Lean, widow of John Lean, mine agent, died of natural decay aged 75 years, Stephen Lean of Trelowarren Street Camborne in attendance. 3

  Marriage Information:

Grace married Cpt. John Lean, son of John Lean and Christian Boase, on 21 Jun 1794 in Camborne, Cornwall. (John Lean was christened on 15 Aug 1773 in Camborne, Cornwall and was buried on 22 Mar 1836 in Camborne, Cornwall, aged 63 years.)
