In 1901 Herbert V. Thomas, aged 27, born in Camborne, tin mine surveyor, was with his parents at 11 Bond St., Redruth.

In July 1915 Herbert Vivian Thomas, mining surveyor, and his brother John Vivian Thomas, mining engineer, were granted Administration of their father's personal estate. The following month they were granted Administration of their late mother's personal effects.

In 1921 Herbert Vivian Thomas, aged 46 years 4 months, born in Camborne, single, mining engineer, was living at 40 Clinton Road, Redruth. With him was sister Julia Ann Trewartha Thomas, aged 55 years 1 month, born in Camborne, single, home duties.
