Hannah Lawrance of the parish of Illogan in the county of Cornwall widow the principal legatee named in the last will and testament and codicil annexed of Peter Lawrance late of the parish of Illogan farmer deceased who died in the month of May 1823 maketh oath and saith that she hath made diligent search and due enquiry after, and in respect of, the personal estate and effects of the said deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the goods, chattles, and credits, of which the deceased died possessed, within the province of Canterbury.... are under the value of twenty pounds. And this deponent further saith that the said deceased had no personal estate and effects, at the time of his decease, within the province of York...

Know all Men by these Presents, that we Hannah Lawrance of the parish of Illogan in the county of Cornwall widow, Henry Craze of the same parish yeoman and Richard Bray of the borough of Bodmin in the said county scrivener are held and firmly bound unto the worshipful William Short, Clerk, Archdeacon of Cornwall, in the sum of forty pounds... to be paid unto the said William Short... dated the seventeenth day of July in the fortieth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the fourth... and in the Year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.
The condition of this obligation is such, that if the above bounden Hannah Lawrance being as the widow and principal legatee named in the last will and testament and codicil of Peter Lawrance late of the parish of Illogan farmer deceased admitted Administratrix of all and singular the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased, with the will of the said deceased thereto annexed, there being no executor named or constituted in the said will .... do well and truly perform the contents of the said will, and pay the just debts and legacies of the said deceased, so far as the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased will thereto extend, and the law require; and do make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattles, and credits, of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge, of her the said Hannah Lawrance .... on or before the last day of October next ensuing. And further do render a just and true account thereof, when thereunto lawfully required, then this obligation to be void, and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.
