In Jul 1823 Hannah Lawrance of Illogan, widow, Henry Craze, yeoman, and Richard Bray, scriviner, paid a bond of £40 for Administration of the goods and chattels of Peter Lawrance of Illogan. Administration was granted to the said Hannah Lawrance.
In 1840 Henry Crase of Tuckingmill was in attendance at the death of [his mother] Hannah Lawrance, widow of Peter Lawrance of Illogan, husbandman.
In 1841 Henry Craze (35), copper miner, and wife Elizabeth (35), were living in Tuckingmill, Cornwall. Present were children: James (14), copper miner, Henry (11), Mary (8), Charles (6), Thomas (4), Elizabeth (2).
In 1844 Henry Craze of Tuckingmill was in attendance at the death of his elder brother Thomas Craze of Treswithian Downs.
In 1851 Henry Craze (49) [sic] of Camborne, Cornwall, farmer of 20 Acres, and wife Elizth. (50) of Camborne, farmer's wife, were living in Pendarves St., Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Chas. (18), farmer's son, Thos. (14), farmer's son, Elizth. (12), farmer's daughter, granddaughter Jane Craze* (4) of Feock
* Per the 1871 Census, her full name was Jane Craze Scoble, born in 1846 in Feock (which is in the Truro District). Henry's eldest son James was by this time married and living in Callington and continues to appear in the Censuses with his family, so it seems unlikely that Jane was his child. Son Henry does not appear in the Censuses after 1841; a Henry Craze died in 1844 in the Redruth District and, if this is the same Henry, then that would rule him out. This leaves daughter Mary who married in late 1848, suggesting Jane was her child born out of wedlock. There is an entry for a Jane Craze Scoble born in the 4th Quarter of 1846 in the Truro District, who is probably the same Jane Scoble who married Henry's nephew Thomas in 1873 in Grass Valley, Nevada Co., California, USA (note that a number of Henry's descendants also emigrated to Grass Valley, Nevada in California). That Jane was the natural-born daughter of Mary is not yet conclusive; however, in the absence of other evidence it does seem to be the most likely scenario.
In 1861 Henry Crase (48) [sic] of Tuckingmill, Camborne, Cornwall, farmer of 8 acres, was living in Pendarvis St., Camborne. Present was granddaughter Jane Crase (14) of Camborne [sic]
