In 1851 John Carne, aged 27, born in St. Anne, and wife Jane Carne, aged 27, born in St. Anne Cornwall, were living in Fore Street, Tywardreath Cornwall. With them were sons (born in St. Anne) Thomas (8), scholar, and John (6), scholar.
