In 1870, Richard Edwards (24) of England, miner, was living with John & Elizabeth Osborn in Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin, USA.

In 1900, Richard T. Edwards (54)* of England, mine labourer, and wife of 28 years Eliza (47) of England (mother of 9 children, all living), were living in Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin. Present were children: Eliza** (19), Raymond (16), at school, Bennie (13), at school, May (9), at school, Nettie (5).

* The Census shows Richard born in Mar 1846, which should be 1847 (see below).
** This is Elizabeth.

In 1910, Richard T. Edwards (63) of England and wife Eliza (56) of England were living in Shullsburg Ward 1, Lafayette, Wisconsin. Present were children: Raymond J. (26), Benjamin A. (23), May D. (19), Nettie E. (15).

In 1920, Richard Edwards (73) of England, widowed, was living in Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin. Present were son Benjamin Edwards (33), daughters May Edwards (29) and Nettie Edwards (25).

FindAGrave (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=103890098) shows Richard Tangye Edward's birth year as 1836 which is either a mistranscription or an error on the headstone. His birth year (1847) is in agreement with his ages as given in both the U.S. Censuses, the 1851 and 1861 England Censuses, and the GROE Birth Index (Richard Tangye Edwards, born 2nd QTR, 1847 in the Redruth District: vol. 9, p. 228).
