Hereafter, Mary Bates progressively understates her age at each Census.

In 1891, Mary Bate (55) [sic] of Camborne, was staying with [her widowed brother-in-law] John Blewett in Tolcarne, Camborne.

Probably the same Mary Bate who died during the 2nd Quarter of 1901 in the Redruth district (of which Camborne is part), her age given as 68 which, not surprisingly, is incorrect.
