In 1851, Mary Bate (50) of Camborne and husband Richard Bate (54) of Camborne, engine worker C., were living in Cross St., Camborne, Cornwall. Present were children (born in Camborne): Mary (22), dressmaker, Elizabeth (20), milliner, Grace (17), Julia (15), scholar, Richard (14), blacksmith, William (11), scholar, Caroline (8), scholar

In 1871, Mary Bate (70) of Camborne and husband Richard Bate (74) of Camborne, farmer of 8 acres, were living in Beacon, Camborne, Cornwall. Present were children (born in Camborne): Mary (40), Richd. (30), mine smith

In 1881, Mary Bate (79) of Camborne, widow, was staying with her unmarried, eldest daughter Mary (age 46, dressmaker) and her granddaughter Mary A. Blewett, in 13 Chapel St., Camborne.

Presumably this Mary Bate died in 1882, though the GROE Death Index shows her age as 79 rather than 82 (vol. 5c, p. 180), noting she stated her age as 79 the year before, so the informant on her death was incorrect.

   Marriage Information:

Mary married Richard BATE, son of William BATE and Mary TEMBY, on 13 Mar 1828 in Camborne, Cornwall. (Richard BATE was born in 1796 in Camborne, Cornwall, christened on 27 Dec 1796 in Camborne, Cornwall and died between Jan 1872 and Mar 1872 in Camborne, Cornwall.)
