The GROE Death Index shows Robert having died in the 1st Quarter aged 70 (exactly 10 years out. He would've been close to 80). There is no other death registered for a Robert Sanders/Saunders in the Redruth district during this period. No Robert Saunders/Sanders born c. 1816 can be found in the 1851, 1861, 1871 or 1881 Censuses for Cornwall. One can only assume, therefore, that the age given in the GROE Death Index (vol. 5c, p. 203) is incorrect.
