TROON.
After a long and protracted illness of miner's phthisis, Mr. William Thomas, aged 38 years, peacefully passed away on Tuesday afternoon last. The funeral took place at the cemetery on Friday last. His brethren of the Philanthropic Friendly Society bore the remains to their last resting place, amid every sign of sorrow and regret. He leaves a widow and four children to mourn his loss. Deceased had travelled in foreign mining camps, having fulfilled mining appointments in the Straits Settlements, also in South Africa.
