In 1891 Stephen Johns (40) of Camborne, mine engine driver, and wife Caroline (41) of Cumberland, were living in Beacon, Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Eliza E. (17), draper's assistant, Joseph E. (13), scholar, Arthur (10), scholar, mother Margaret Johns (70) of Camborne, widow.

In 1901 Stephen Johns (50) of Camborne, widower, stationary engine driver in mine, was living in Beacon, Camborne. With him were sons Joseph E (23) of Camborne, stationary engine driver in mine, and Arthur (20), stoker.

In 1911 Stephen Johns (60) of Camborne, father of 5 children (2 deceased), stationary engine driver, and wife of 6 years Ellen (47) of St. Columb (no children), were living in Beacon, Camborne.
