The death of Mr. Thos. Harris of Rose Cottage, Copperhouse, has removed a well-known and much beloved resident from the town. Mr. Harris for many years was foreman of pattern-makers at Messrs. Harvey and Co's. Foundry, and since the closing down of the works he has been employed at Loggans. He was associated with the Copperhouse Wesleyan Chapel for over 40 years, and was a most zealous worker in all things pertaining to the church. He was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever the opportunity presented itself, and his death will be regretted by all who knew him. The funeral took place at Phillack on Saturday afternoon, the rector (Rev. A. P. Hockin), officiating. The mourners were Mr. Wm. Harris and Mr. John Harris (sons), Mrs. Wm. Callaway, and Mrs. John Sleeman (daughters), Masters Thos. Harris and John Sleeman (grandsons), Mrs. Wm. Harris (daughter-in-law), Mr. Wm. Callaway (son-in-law), Mr. Chas. Harris (brother), Mrs. Bottrall, Camborne (niece), Mr. M. Curry, Camborne, Miss L. Rowe (niece), Mr. Bottrall, Camborne, Mrs. J. Harris (daughter-in-law), Mr. R. Harris (cousin).... The coffin was of pannelled oak with brass furniture, the breastplate bearing the inscription, "Thomas Harris, died June 7th, 1914, aged 76 years." ....
