In the 1939 Register Ernest Wilkins (b. 2 Feb 1890*), colliery labourer (below ground), and wife Edith M Wilkins (b. 23 Dec 1883), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 42 Under House Wood Road, Pontypridd, Glamorgan. At the same address were [daughters, single] Glenys M Wilkins (b. 17 Jan 1919), unpaid domestic duties, and Doris M Wilkins (b. 5 Jun 1921), factory hand [in] fashion footware factory.

Invalid For Many Years
MR. E. WILKINS, RHYDYFELIN
After being an invalid for many years the death occurred at his home of Mr. Ernest Wilkins, 59 Sycamore Street, Rhydyfelin.
A native and lifelong resident of Pontypridd, Mr. Wilkins had, at one time, been employed at Brown Lennox Chainworks. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Treforest. Of a quiet disposition, he was well respected in the district.
The funeral took place on January 2 at Glyntaff Crematorium, the Rev. Harold Bartlett (Calvary Church, Treforest) officiating.
