In 1911 Thomas Wilkins, aged 31, born in Pontypridd Glamorgan, smith, and wife of 8 years Jennie Wilkins, aged 32, born in Tredegar . . . . . . . (mother of 4 children), were living at 40 Llanover Rd., Pontypridd. With them were children (born in Pontypridd) Evelyn (7), Gracie (6), Garfield (5) and Selwyn (2 months).
In the 1939 Register Thomas Wilkins (b. 18 Aug 1879), fitter, tool smith, and wife Jennie Wilkins (b. 18 Feb 1878), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 25 Llanover Road, Pontypridd Glamorgan. At the same address were [daughters, all single] Evelyn M Wilkins (b. 17 May 1903), chief clerk & cashier, Muriel G Wilkins (b. 12 Oct 1904), cashier bookkeeper, and Bloden M Wilkins (b. 20 Jun 1911), unpaid domestic duties.

BLACKSMITH'S FATAL COLLAPSE
MR. T. WILKINS, LLANOVER ROAD
A wide circle of friends will regret to learn of the sudden death on Bank Holiday Monday of Mr. Thomas Wilkins, 25 Llanover Road, Pontypridd. "Tom", as he was familiarly known, was 66 years old, and employed as a blacksmith at the Mount Stuart Dry Docks, Cardiff. He had worked as usual on Saturday, and although unwell on Sunday was looking forward to enjoying a holiday at home. On Monday he dressed and shaved and was preparing to go out after lunch when he suddenly collapsed, and died in his chair. Mr. Wilkins was a former treasurer of the Amalgamated Engineering Union and was held in high esteem. He is survived by his widow, two sons and three daughters. The funeral took place on Friday at Glyntaff Cemetery.
