In 1911 John Wilkins, aged 39, born in Mountain Ash Glamorgan, single, fitter at iron foundry, was with his widowed father in St. Leonard's House, Merthyr Rd., Pontypridd.
In the 1939 Register John Wilkins (b. 13 Apr 1872), chainworks fitter, and wife Edith O Wilkins (b. 7 Apr 1900), unpaid domestic duties, were at 139 Bonvilston Road, Pontypridd Glamorgan.

FORMER PONTYPRIDD FOOTBALLER.
Funeral of Mr. John Wilkins.
The death occurred on Sunday, December 24th, of Mr. John Wilkins, aged 68, of 139, Bonvilston Road, Trallwn. He resided in Pontypridd for over 60 years and played football for Pontypridd in the "good old times," being the holder of three caps. Mr. Wilkins was one of the oldest machinists at Brown, Lennox, Ltd., with 52 years' service. His father, the late Dan Wilkins, was one of the "lads of the village." He is survived by his wife and son. The funeral took place on Thursday, December 28th, at Glyntaff Cemetery. A large and representative number were present. The Revs. E. Jones-Rees and Griffith Owen conducted the last rites.

Brown, Lennox Ltd. were represented by Mr. Lewis.
