"BIGELOW RANCH, UT - Linda Lorraine Bowler Leavitt, our loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on May 13, 2005 in her home. She was born July 29, 1957 in Fairbanks, Alaska to John M. and Shirley L. Simon Bowler. At the age of fourteen she was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She moved with her family to Veyo, Utah at the age of fifteen. It was there that she met her eternal companion.
She married her sweetheart, Lemuel Lloyd Leavitt on December 21, 1974 in the Manti LDS Temple. Linda and Lem have lived in Veyo and Gunlock for many years. They were blessed with seven children: Ellie, John, Mollie, Michael, Dusty, Jessica and Richard. Linda is now the loving grandmother of five grandchildren: Taz, Coy, Deklyn, Austin, and Emilee.
Linda worked at the Veyo Pool, was a school bus driver for ten years, she owned Big Slice Pizza in Veyo, and she helped with the family farm and cattle ranch. She was always proud of her ranching heritage, and appreciated the sacrifices of her ranching ancestors. She worked diligently and was a very responsible person. Linda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled callings in Primary, Sunday School, Young Women's and Relief Society.
Linda was a woman of many talents. She was a wonderful homemaker and a fabulous cook. She was most loved for her delicious bread; she also enjoyed decorating wedding cakes. She loved her yard and the challenge of growing beautiful plants. But the thing she valued most in her life was her family, which was obvious by the way she lived her life. Linda was a great support and the center of her family's life. Linda is already greatly missed by her family and friends. Linda is survived by her husband of thirty years, Lemuel, and their children: Ellie (Troy) Strong and children Taz, Coy, and Deklyn of Brookside, Utah; John (Shirley) Leavitt and children Austin and Emilee of Veyo; Mollie; Michael; Dusty (Shaunelle) Leavitt of Veyo; Jessica; and Richard. She is also survived by her parents Jack and Shirley Bowler, and sisters: Tina (Shirl) Fox; and Lisa Garner and children Dallas, Megan, and April; and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins....." 2
