In 1851, Stephen Tyack (23) of Kea, copper miner, and wife Ann (22) of Kea, were living in Kerley, Kea. Present were children (born in Kea): Mary (3), John (1), grandmother Amey Tyack (83) of Kea [sic], pauper

"Obituary.An old and respected resident of Nettle street, Mr. Stephen Tyack, after a lingering illness, passed away on Friday night.* The late Mr, Tyack, who was 74 [sic] years of age, and a native of Cornwall, [England, came to the colony in 1854, and resided in Bendigo for 46 years. He leaves a wife and a son and daughter, both of whom are maried. The funeral takes place to-morrow at three oclock."
* Friday, 1 June. This obit (dated 3 December) is obviously a reprint; the funeral notice appears in the Bendigo Advertiser on 4 June.
