FUNERAL OF MR. E. G. FRUEN.

At Alton Barnes Church on Friday the funeral took place of Mr. Edward George Fruen, eldest son of the late Mr. George Fruen—who passed away less than a year ago—and Mrs. Fruen, who for many years lived at Canal Cottage, Honeystreet. Deceased, who was 55 years of age, had been in ill health for a long time, and for the last nine months was a patient at Savernake Hospital, where he died on 21 September. Mr. Fruen served with the Colours until 1908, and when the Great War broke out he rejoined. In later years he resided at High Wycombe, Bucks. The service was conducted by the Rector (Rev. N. Ll. Jenkins). Mrs. J. Maslin, at the organ, accompanied the singing of "Abide with Me," and the Psalm, "The Lord is my Shepherd." The mourners included Mr. Reg. Fruen and Mrs. T. Goddard, Mr. J. Fruen and Mrs. D. Goddard (brothers and sisters), Mr. D. Goddard and Mrs. J. Fruen (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mr. T. Goddard and Mrs. R. Fruen (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Dorothy, Gwen, Queenie (nieces), Billy (nephew), and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goddard.
