At the time of the 1901 Census for Scotland James Barclay, aged 35, born in Tarbolton Ayrshire, postman, and wife Agnes, aged 36, born in England, were living at 43 Fort Street, Ayr. Present were children (all born in Ayr): Isabell (7), Mary (4), Agnes (2), mother-in-law Rose Ann Robb (73) of Ireland, formerly monthly nurse.
