  Research Notes:

In May 1837 Elizabeth Bate wife of Walter Bate was granted Administration of her late father's personal estate.

In 1841 Elizabeth Bate, aged about 35, and husband Walter Bate, aged about 45, farmer, were living in High Hall, Laneast Cornwall. With them were daughters Elizabeth (12), Annabella (6) and Mary (2).

In 1851 Elizabeth G Bate, aged 45, born in Laneast Cornwall, and husband Walter Bate, aged 57, born in Egloskerry Cornwall, farmer of 140 acres employing 3 labourers, were living in Laneast. With them were daughters (born in Laneast) Annabella (16), scholar, and Mary Jane (12), scholar.

In November 1856 Elizabeth Bates, widow, was granted Administration of her late husband's personal goods.

In 1861 Elizabeth G Bate, aged 56, born in Laneast Cornwall, farmer's widow, was with her widowed son-in-law Arthur Johns (26) of Black Torrington Devon, farmer, and his son Walter Johns (2) of Laneast, in High Hall, Laneast.

In 1871 Elizabeth Gubin Bate, aged 66, born in Laneast Cornwall, widow, annuitant, was with her daughter Annabella Vosper Bayly and her family in Trevillian, Warbstow Cornwall.

In 1881 Elizabeth G Bate, aged 76, born in Laneast Cornwall, widow, was with her daughter Annabella V Bayly and her family in Trevillian, Warbstow Cornwall.

  Marriage Information:

Elizabeth married her second cousin Walter Bate, son of John Bate and Elizabeth Jane Edgcombe, on 19 Sep 1826 in Laneast, Cornwall. (Walter Bate was christened 10 Jan 1793 in Egloskerry, Cornwall and died about Nov 1856 in Laneast, Cornwall.)
