Martin Andrew of 13 Church Road Pool died aged 84 years (burial record).

--------------------------

MR. M. ANDREW, POOL.

The funeral took place in Illogan Churchyard, on Thursday, of Mr. Martin Andrew, who died suddenly at his residence, Church-road, Pool. Aged 84, Mr. Andrew was born at Pool, where he had resided throughout his life. For years he had been in business as a boot and shoe maker and repairer. By his passing St. Martin's Methodist Church, Pool, has suffered an almost irreparable loss. He had been associated with the church since childhood, and had held almost every office open to a layman. He could recall the church before pews were installed and could remember Billy Bray preaching there. When Methodist Union was consummated locally, and the necessity arose for giving the church a name to distinguish it from the Pool Wesley, it was agreed by general consent that Mr. Andrew was worthy of having his name permanently associated with the church on account of his long and distinguished record of service, and the church was accordingly named St. Martin's Church. Mr. Andrew, a widower, leaves two sons and three daughters.

The funeral was conducted in St. Martin's Church by the Rev. J. H. Doddrell, who paid a high tribute to the life and character of Mr. Andrew. Mr. W. F. Sandry was the organist, and the choir led the singing. Mourners were Mr. H. A. Martin (son), Mesdames F. Davey, K. Davey (Exmouth) and J. Johns (daughters), Mr. T. Andrew (brother), Messrs. A. Johns, A. Andrew and C. Johns (grandsons), Miss G. Bath and Mrs. A. Warren (nieces), Mr. A. Andrew (nephew, also representing Mr. R. J. Penberthy), Mrs. H. A. Andrew (daughter-in-law), Mr. J. Johns (son-in-law), Mr. J. Menneer (great-nephew, also representing J. G. Menneer), Messrs. C. Warren, A. M. Bray (also representing R. J. Veale), A. Davey, J. E. Snell (Radnor), W. Paull (Broadlane), J. Rogers, W. Coombs and W. J. Alsop....
