  Research Notes:

In 1881 John Michael Phillips, aged 42, born in Stithians Cornwall, innkeeper, and wife Grace Phillips, aged 37, born in Wendron Cornwall, were living in Lower Market Street, St. Gluvias Cornwall. Present were children John Moyle (12) of Tilt Cove Newfoundland, Lavinia Jane (10) of Tilt Cove, and Ethel Maude (1) of Wendron.

In 1891 John M. Phillips, aged 51, born in Stithians Cornwall, mine captain, and wife Grace Phillips, aged 47, born in Wendron Cornwall, were at the Wild Duck Inn, Pencoys Lancarrow, Wendron. Present were daughters Lavinia J. M. (20) of Newfoundland, Ethel M. (11) of Pencoys, scholar, mother Lavinia Moyle (71) of Camborne, living on own means.

AN OLD DISPUTE.

In this case John Michael Phillips and Grace Phillips, his wife, claimed £3 (at 10s. per year) for six years' use and occupation of a garden wall at Pencoys, Wendron, on which a roof of a stable and traphouse of the defendant, William Henry Thomas, rest. Plaintiffs also applied for an order restraining the defendant from further using the wall, or for the removal of the roof of the stable and traphouse from the wall.

Mr. C. V. THOMAS represented the plaintiff, and Mr. TERRILL (Penryn) the defendant.

His HONOUR adjourned the case, in the mean time the roof to be removed to the satisfaction of Mr. W. M. Moreton, appointed by His Honour to inspect the place.
