In 1682—as one of the seven children of John Prior and his wife Zenobia Pryor (née Wearn)—William was left 30 shillings in the will of his uncle Henry Wearn of Wendron.
In 1732 William Pryor was a beneficiary of the will of his brother Thomas Pryor of Wendron, receiving 5 shillings.

Gives to his wife Frances an annuity of £4 out of his tenement of Trevennin during her widowhood, to be paid to her by his executor after he turns twenty-one.

Gives £5 to his daughter Mary.
Gives £5 to his daughter Joan.
Gives £5 to his son John.
All the rest of his lands and tenements, goods and chattels, rights and credits, he gives and bequeaths to Tobias Roberts, gent., and to Joseph Pryor his brother, in trust, for the benefit of his son Samuel until he reaches the age of twenty-one years.
