Nicholas ROWE of Connor Downs

  • Born: Apr 1850, Connor Downs, Gwithian, Cornwall 2
  • Married: 2 Nov 1874, Gwithian, Cornwall 1
  • Buried: 21 Jul 1929, Gwithian, Cornwall 1

   General Notes:

There is an entry in the GROE for the birth of Nicholas Rowe during the 2nd Quarter of 1850 in the Redruth district (of which Gwithian was part), which birth was reported on 26 April 1950 ("At Connor Downs, Gwithian, the wife of of Mr. Nicholas Rowe, of a son.") in the Royal Cornwall Gazette, although he does not appear in the 1851 Census. His age in the Censuses thereafter make a case for this being the same Nicholas, such that he must have been born about two years before his parents' marriage. This is the only Nicholas Rowe born at this time and living in Gwithian.
