There are a number of entries in the Calendar of Close Rolls that refer to land settled on Roger Giffard and Isabel Stretele by her father as part of the original marriage settlement. 1 :
8 Oct 8 Hen. VI (1430):
Thomas Giffarde, son and heir of Roger Giffarde, to John Barton the younger, John Stretle and John Aston, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of all lands, rents and services in Powndoun in the parish of Twyforde co. Bukingham, Bekbroke and Newnton co. Oxford which they have by feoffment of John Stokys and Isabel his wife.
9 Sep 9 Hen. VI (1430)
Thomas Giffarde (as above) to John Stokys and Isabel his wife. Confirmation of their estate and possession in the manors of Twyforde co. Bukingham, Bekbroke and Newnton co. Oxford, which William Stretele and William Kynge gave to Roger Giffarde now deceased and Isabel then his wife, now wife of John Stokys, and to the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of the said Roger.
14 Oct 9 Hen. VI (1430):
Thomas Giffarde (as before) to John Stokys and Isabel his wife. Confirmation of their estate and possession in certain lands, rents and services in Powndoun, Bekbroke and Newnton (aforesaid), which they have for their lives without impeachment of waste by gift of John Barton the younger, John Stretele and John Aston.
