Aged 25 years and more at the Inquisition taken following the death of his father in 1369 (inquisition post mortem).
Thomas was heir to his cousin John de Morteyn who died 26 July 1373. In his Inquisition Post Mortem (dated 7 July 1380), he is called "Thomas Gyffard, knight, aged 30 years and more, son of Lucy sister of John, his father". 1
