In 1851 Samuel Michell, aged 52, born in Towednack Cornwall, carpenter, and wife Martha Michell, aged 48, born in Towednack, were living in Necledrea, Towednack. With them were children Samuel (22) of Ludgvan, carpenter, Matthew (21) of Ludgvan, black-smith, William (19) of St. Ives, carpenter, Martha (17) of St. Ives, Mary Jane (15) of St. Ives, Cathrine Ann (12) of St. Ives, Margaret (10) of Ludgvan, and John (6) of Ludgvan.
In 1861 Samuel Michell, aged 61, born in Towednack, widower, carpenter, was living in Nancledrea, Ludgvan. With him were children (born in Ludgvan) Margaret T (19), and John (16), carpenter.
In 1871 Samuel Michell, aged 72, born in Towednack, widower, landlord of bear (beer?) shop, was living in Nancledrea, Ludgvan. With him were children Margaret (29) of Ludgvan, and Albert E (1) of Ludgvan. (Albert E. Michell would have to have been Samuel's grandson).
