The funeral service for Mrs. Olive Jane Smitheram, aged 79, of College-street, Camborne, took place in Camborne Parish Church. She died in the City Hospital at Truro, after being involved in a road accident with a motor-cycle.
In her younger days she was connected with the parish church, and had been the pianist for Camborne Ladies' Circle. For some years she looked after her invalid daughter Betty, who was unable to attend the funeral service. Mrs. Smitheram's husband was killed in an accident at Dolcoath Mine, where he was a tin miner.
The service was conducted by the Rev. A. B. E. Brown and Mr. J. Hocking was the organist.
Mourners were Mr. D. L. Smitheram (son), Mr. K. Angove and Mrs. J. Angove (grandchildren), Messrs F. Rhodda, W. Trevillian, C. Perry, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Curtis, Mrs. J. Rhodda (nephews and nieces), Mrs. U. Smitheram (daughter-in-law), Mr. A. Cock (cousin).
