Pitt of Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia, and Miss Margaret Watt (Peggy) Lampard, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Lampard, of Oakwood Cottage, Bolney. The bridegroom is a Forest Officer in the Colonial Service at Tanganyika, while the bride was for six years private secretary to Lord Chesham. Later she was political secretary to Sir Stanley Reed, K.B.E., M.P., and just prior to the outbreak of war she was acting in a similar capacity to Baron Perfumo's son, Mr. Jack Perfumo, who was prospective Conservative candidate for the Kettering Division. The sanctuary of the Church was decorated with autumn flowers of mauve and yellow tints by Mrs. Bolton and Mrs. Groom, the effect of their handiwork being enhanced by the bright sunshine through the stained-glass windows. The guests were conducted to their seats by Dr. Michael Lampard (brother of the bride) and Mr. Eric Swift. In the meantime appropriate organ voluntaries were played by Mrs. Arman....
