Margery BIGOD
- Born: Thetford, Norfolk, England
- Married:
Research Notes:
The Liber Vitæ of Durham lists (in order) "Comes Rogerus Bigot, Ida uxor eius, Henricus capellanus, Hugo, Willelmus, Rogerus, Johannes, Radulfus, G. G. dapifer, Basilia, Maria, Margareta, Ida pueri eius". She is named as wife of William de Hastings in Burke’s Dormant and Extinct Peerages. This is presumably an extrapolation from Dugdale’s Baronage which records her parentage, but marriage with William [II] de Hastings, which appears incorrect from a chronological point of view. The primary source which confirms this information has not been identified. 1
Marriage Information:
Margery married William III DE HASTINGS of Ashil, son of William II DE HASTINGS and Matilda DE BANASTRE. (William DE HASTINGS was born in Ashill, Swaffham, Norfolk, England and died before 26 Dec 1225.)
