Ida
- Married (1): Abt 25 Dec 1181
Research Notes:
William Longespee refers to his mother as "comitissa Ida, mater mea" and "Ida comitissa, mater mea" in two charters. She is identified as the wife of Roger Bigod Earl of Norfolk. This identification is based on a list of hostages captured at the battle of Bouvines in 1214 which includes "Rad[ulfus] Bigot frater comitis Salesbir[iensis]". 1
Marriage Information:
Ida married Roger Bigod, 2nd Earl of Norfolk, son of Hugh Bigod, Earl of Norfolk, and Juliane de Vere, about 25 Dec 1181. (Roger Bigod died shortly before 2 Aug 1221.)
