A claim by “Rogerum de Hegham” against “Robertum de Holaund...Ricardum de Holaund...” and many other named parties, relating to land in Hale, Lancashire, records that property was granted to “Thurstano de Holaund pater ipsius Roberti cujus heres ipse est”, undated. 1

Sir Robert de Holland, the son of Thurstan, who succeeded about 1276, married Elizabeth daughter and co-heir of Sir William de Samlesbury. 2

(c) This Sir Robert was son of Thurston, son of Robert de Holand. He m. before 1276, when he and his wife were involved in a suit about Salmesbury. The date of his death is uncertain, probably about 1300. His widow was living 1311. 3
