Diary of William Thomas of Michaelston:-

"April 1763 - A son born to Thomas Howel of Dyffryn fr. his wife Ann Andrew daughr. of John Andrew of ye same since Saturday ye 2d day of this instant April. being their first born."

"14 January 1781 - Was buried in St.Andrews from the Cross in do., Lewelin Howel, nephew to Mary Andrew, alias Gronow, of 17 years of age, from lingring ague, which turned to swelling" ¹
