In 1871 Lydia Evans, aged 16, born in St. Georges Glamorgan, was with her widowed mother in Bovehill, St. Andrews Glamorgan.

In 1881 Lydia Thomas, aged 26, born in St. Georges Glamorgan, and husband Richard Thomas, aged 25, born in St. Lythans Glamorgan, farmer of 66 acres, were living in Westra Ucha, St. Andrews Glamorgan. Present were children (born in St. Andrews) Rees (2) and Anne (9 mo).

In 1891 Lydia Thomas, aged 36, born in St. Georges Glamorgan, and husband Richard Thomas, aged 35, born in St. Lythans, farmer, were living in Homry Farm, St. Nicholas Glamorgan. With them were children (born in St. Andrews) Rhys (12), scholar, David (9), scholar, Gwilym (7), scholar, Ethel (6), scholar, Tudor (4) and Eleanor (2).

In 1901 Lydia Thomas, aged 45, born in St. Georges Glamorgan, and husband Richard Thomas, aged 45, born in St. Lythans, farmer, were living in Homry Farm, St. Nicholas Glamorgan. With them were children (a) born in St. Andrews: Rhys (22), Annie (20), David (19), scholar, Gwilym (17), scholar, Ethel C. (16), scholar, Tudor (14) and Eleanor (12), and (b) born in St. Nicholas: Robert M. (8), Gwendoline M. (7), and Gwynne M. (5).

In 1911 Lydia Thomas, aged 56, born in St. Georges Glamorgan (mother of 11 children, 1 deceased), farmer's wife, and husband of 33 years Richard Thomas, aged 55, born in St. Lythans, farmer, were living in Homri Farm, St. Nicholas Glamorgan. With them were children (a) born in St. Andrews: Rhys (22), single, dairyman on farm, David (29), employed on farm, Ethel (26), employed as dairymaid, Tudor (24), marine engineer, and Eleanor (22), employed in housework, and (b) born in St. Nicholas: Robert M. (18), clerk, Gwendoline M. (17), school (part-time), and Gwyn M. (15), school (part-time).

In the 1939 Register Lydia Thomas (b. 21 Jan 1855), unpaid domestic duties, and husband Richard Thomas (b. 8 May 1855), farmer, were living in Homri, St Nicholas, Glamorgan. At the same address were [children, single] Rhys Thomas (b. 23 Oct 1878), general farm hand, Gwilym Thomas (b. 7 May 1883), general farm hand, Eleanor Thomas (b. 3 Jul 1888), unpaid domestic duties, Gwendoline M Thomas (b. 11 Nov 1893), general farm worker. Also with them was Nesta J Morgan (b. 9 Sep 1922), at school.

Lydia Thomas died either in 1942 in the East Glamorgan district, aged 87, or in 1944 in the same district, aged 89.

Lydia married Richard Thomas, son of Rees Thomas and Gwenllian, in 1878 in the Cardiff District, Glamorgan, Wales. (Richard Thomas was born on 8 May 1855 in St. Lythans, Glamorgan, Wales and died on 30 Oct 1940 at Homri, St. Nicholas, Glamorgan, Wales.)
